Motorists asked to be 'considerate' during five-week roadworks in Horncastle
MOTORISTS are being asked to be considerate during five weeks of roadworks in a busy part of Horncastle.
Lincolnshire County Council Highways will be carrying out roadworks at the junction of Jubilee Way and North Street from Monday, September 17 for five weeks.

This area is a busy route with traffic going on to Skegness, Louth and Lincoln.
The work will include modernisation of the traffic signals at the junction of Jubilee Way and North Street and the resurfacing of footpaths at the junction.

Street lighting is to be refurbished and new low energy lights will be installed.
Essential maintenance will also take place on the South Bridge over River Waring.
The A153 Bull Ring on the South Bridge will be closed for the duration of the works.
Temporary three-way traffic lights will be in place on South Street and Jubilee Way.
The junction will be closed to all traffic for one night only to resurface the road on Jubilee Way.
Local diversion routes will be signed throughout.
Tim Clark, traffic signals manager for Lincolnshire County Council highways, said: "We have planned these works together into one five week road closure, to prevent similar closures on the same roads in the near future.
"While the roadworks are in place, this gives us an ideal opportunity to carry out maintenance works to South Bridge. We need to waterproof the bridge to protect the structure from water that may contain salt, which corrodes the steel reinforcement in the concrete in the bridge deck."
Local businesses have been given advanced warning of the works and customer vehicle access will be maintained.
Horncastle Neighbourhood Policing Team are appealing to all motorists to be considerate to others during the roadworks, to make sure no extra disruption to people's journeys are caused.
PCSO Nigel Wass said: "It will be a difficult time for everyone trying to get through the roadworks but we ask everyone to be extra considerate and cooperate with the closures and diversions.
"We don't want the situation where someone has pulled up on the roadside to buy a paper as it can add to the problems if lorries and other vehicles are trying to get through.
"We will be putting on extra patrols and issuing fixed penalty notices if we see anyone who has parked up where they should not be and is causing difficulties to the flow of traffic.
"The roadworks are for the greater good of the town so we ask everyone for their cooperation."
Local councillor and businessman Bill Aron is hoping more people will consider cycling during the planned road works.
He said: "In preparation of the forthcoming roadworks, over the weekend I got my old bike out of the garage checked the tyres and brakes and went for a ride."
Road signs informing about the roadworks state the work will start on September 10-October 9. Lincolnshire County Council said these signs are wrong and they will be replaced.
