Lady Imps plan to change club badge before Women's Super League kicks off
LINCOLN LADIES have announced plans to change their club badge ahead of the start of the new FA Women's Super League, which kicks off in March 2011.
The final design will be unveiled, along with the club's new kit, on September 18 at a special launch party organised to celebrate the team's new status and participation in the division.
Ahead of the unveiling, six design proposals have been released for public perusal in order for the club to gauge response to the ideas.
However, club chief executive Luke Negus-Hill has admitted the final crest may not necessarily stem from the six options released.
"We wanted to go for something new on the shirt, seeing as we're having a new name and going into a new division," said Negus-Hill.
"The final decision might not be taken from the six ideas we have put out there.
"We're mainly trying to engage the fans and get some feedback from them on the trends they like to see in a badge."
The club has dropped the sponsored "OOH" prefix from their name as part of the ongoing developments at the club.
And the changes taking place are forming what is a new identity for the Lady Imps as a professional outfit.
Negus-Hill says the badge is all a part of their new future.
"Essentially we're changing the badge to go along with the launch of the Super League," he said.
"But there's a new feeling around the club with the new players and the new kit too. The badge is a part of what is almost a new identity."
