NHS exercise programme helps medical conditions
RESIDENTS in the Gainsborough area with a medical condition which would benefit from exercise are being encouraged to speak to their GP about 'Exercise Referral'.
Every district in Lincolnshire offers Exercise Referral, funded by NHS Lincolnshire – and more than 20 medical conditions could benefit from exercise.
The offer is open to anyone aged 18-plus with a medical condition who would benefit from regular physical activity.
Lincolnshire Sports Partnership is helping to co-ordinate Exercise Referral schemes.

And it is hoping that more people in Gainsborough and across West Lindsey will take up the offer.
Individuals may reduce medication, increase their fitness level, feel and look better after completing the 12-week course.
"Lincolnshire is very fortunate to have a scheme like this – because other counties have had their funding cut – and around 3,000 people are being referred onto the programme every year," said sports partnership's activity manager Sarah Ferneyhough. "Instructors will help individuals get started and review their progress as they increase their activity levels.
"Conditions that are accepted onto the scheme include cardio-vascular conditions, diabetes, joint or back pain, asthma, high blood pressure and cholesterol, stress and depression."
