National fire strike called off
A national strike over pensions involving Lincolnshire members of the Fire Brigades Union has been called off.
The walk-out, planned for Saturday, October 19, was set to become the second round of industrial action in the row and would have run from 6.30pm and 11.30pm.
The FBU says the Government has now presented a deal similar to that offered to their colleagues in Scotland.
The union is opposed to Government plans to get firefighters to work up to the age of 60, saying the public deserve a more robust response.

The deal on the table proposes that firefighters would be able to retire on a full pension between 55 and 60 if genuinely not fit enough and offered other roles.
Staff who do not pass fit tests and choose to take early retirement would get a reduced pension.
