NETTLEHAM chairman John Wilson heaped praise on the hard work done at the Mulsanne Park club after they recently acquired the FA Charter Standard Club Status Award.

Talking in an exclusive feature in today's Lincolnshire Echo, the Nettles chief was proud of the community that has come together to realise the dream of picking up the coveted award.

"A lot of people have put in a great amount of effort. For instance, Clive Mason who was chairman before myself put in a great deal of time and effort, as did his son Rick who we sadly lost last year.

"Then in the last three years we have put in a lot of hard work to acquire the Charter Standard status which is difficult to get for clubs of our size.

"For instance, our welfare officer, Carol Worthington, has worked tirelessly and we would not be where we are today had it not been for her."
