New Boston United manager Dennis Greene is poised to strengthen his squad as he looks to build on a flying start to his reign.

Greene led the Pilgrims to a 4-0 victory over Gloucester City just 24 hours after replacing the sacked Graham Drury.

However, the victory came at a cost after key midfielders Anton Foster and Ian Ross both limped off and are doubts for Saturday's trip to high-flying Brackley.

"We need to get one or two bodies in to balance the squad," said Greene, who has been appointed until the end of the season.

"We've got two centre forwards, four centre-halves and one winger.

"We had two central midfielders come off injured on Tuesday. Hopefully they'll recover in time for Saturday.

"The squad needs improving in that area.

"It will have to be one in, one out, to keep the wage bill right.

"I'm hopeful of getting one in (before the weekend) and I'm hopeful of another one next week.

"So hopefully we'll have two new players for the Saturday after next."

Drury was axed on Monday after leading Boston to just two victories in 13 games.
