New Domino's takeaway to create 30 jobs
Up to 30 jobs will be created when a new pizza takeaway opens in Lincoln next month.

Domino's is opening a third takeaway in Lincoln - in the former home of Blockbuster in south High Street
Half of the jobs will be full-time positions, such as managers and counter staff.
The rest will be part-time, such as delivery drivers.
The announcement has been hailed as a much-needed boost to the local economy.
But it has also prompted claims the area is becoming a dumping ground for food outlets.
Andy Gamwell, franchisee of the new Domino's store, said: "We are looking to employ people who live in the community we'll be serving.
"First and foremost, we'll be looking for people who can deliver great customer service and demonstrate strong teamwork skills, as well as boundless enthusiasm.
"It's also vital to be able to maintain a sense of fun while working under pressure."
The city's other Domino's outlets are located in Tritton Road and Outer Circle Road.
News of the new business comes just months after the Echo reported complaints about the growing number of takeaways in south High Street.
Lincoln City Council received 11 objections to the Domino's plan to open up there.
Among the protesters was Ranjit Johal, owner of Papa John's Pizza, several doors away.
"Empty shop units don't do anyone any good and there is no doubt the consumer will benefit from this," he said. "But there are too many takeaways in this area.
"Blockbuster complemented the existing takeaways and, while I accept that you can't force a business to stay open, it feels like this part of Lincoln is becoming a dumping ground for food outlets."
The new takeaway will open at the end of December.

“Some people are missing the story here. This is a local businessman creating local jobs. Did any of you read about it on the related content link. Mr Gamwell who is local is creating local jobs. For one i applaud him and wish him luck. If you prefer Papa John use them, if you prefer Dominos use them.. if you don't like either don't use either. But lets say well done for creating jobs in this current climate!”

“I agree with Will, it's about time you tiresome parents got with the programme and took responsibility for your lardy kids instead of expecting the rest of the world to change to suit you.”

“Room 317, kids are only too fat at the moment due to what their parents are forcing down their throats. If your kids are a bit on the chubby side, can I recommend you stop over feeding them instead of taking it out on the fast food outlets who are actually just legitimate businesses? I have the occasional Dominos at the moment and I can control my weight...”

“"who cares what the shop is going to be at the moment its a empty wreck that is gonna be done up it will create about 30 jobs which at the moment is great in this climate"
But is there a big enough slice of pizza for everyone, it is fine to create 30 jobs, but what good does that do if another shop closes and 30 jobs go and said shop replaces the eyesore that blockbuster now is. Saying that they should be given the chance, it is a dog eat got world out there, or should that be pizza ;-)”

“I have no objection to this store opening. Dominoes are clean and produce superior food to the countless amounts of Kebab shops which attract vermin from not only the sewers but nightclubs, bars and Uni. I'm not saying dominoes is a substitute for home cooking, but business must be ok to afford opening a third store in the city. I hate seeing empty shops and hopefully this will inspire other businesses nearby to clean up and freshen up thier shops. Good luck to Mr Garnwell and thank you for investing in Lincoln and offering Lincoln people a chance to get off the dole. Ignore the whingers as if they had thier way we'd live in 1954 with no takeaways other then Fish & Chip shops on every corner fattening the modern generation as much if not more then the decent modern pizza takeaways.”

“The lower end of the High Street is becoming just like the Christmas Market.
Junk food stall followed by another junk food stall then another junk food stall then a cheap tat stall. Followed by yet another 3 junk food stalls.”
