New Marston's Inns and Taverns pub to create 50 jobs in Gainsborough
AT LEAST 50 full and part-time jobs will be created when a new inn opens in Gainsborough.
The news that the family food-led pub venture will be built on the outskirts of the town followed hard on the heels of work starting on another scheme in Beaumont Street.

Contractors are already busy creating the foundations for the new McDonald’s outlet opposite Tesco – which will create 65 jobs.
Now planners have given the green light to a brand new Marston’s Inns and Taverns eatery.
It will be located near the Somerby Park Industrial Estate off Thorndike Way and Heapham Road South.
The tavern will employ at least 50 full and part-time staff, feature a children’s play park and a 60-space car park.
Councillors unanimously voted in favour of the plans at a West Lindsey District Council meeting.
Planning committee chairman Chris Underwood-Frost labelled the proposal an “absolutely brilliant opportunity” for the town.
He said: “This is going to bring jobs into the area and give people another choice from the pubs in town.
“It’s also on the dual carriageway so it is going to get a lot of passing trade from people going to other parts of West Lindsey.
“In a town like Gainsborough you have got to grasp any opportunity to create more jobs in a time of austerity.
“For us to say no to any business would be ludicrous.”
Marston’s said details on when building is due to start will be available later this month.
Tina Moorhouse, a spokesman from Marston’s Inns and Taverns said: “Approximately 50 full and part-time jobs will be created at the pub restaurant as a result.
“We are confident that when opened it will build a great reputation locally.”
Meanwhile, permission for the 330 square metre, 85-seater McDonald’s drive-through restaurant with 31 parking spaces was granted by West Lindsey Council as far back as December 2010.
McDonald’s have confirmed that the restaurant will create 25 full-time and 40 part-time jobs.

“A few years back and Gainsborough was a pretty down at heel place. Since Marshalls Yard was built, the town has taken off, and now looks so much better. This latest news is very good.”
