A new bus shelter is being built in Fleet Street in Holbeach, replacing the one in High Street.

Last year, residents asked Lincolnshire County Council to increase the size of the bus shelter in High Street, and the council has since worked closely with South Holland District Council, Holbeach Parish Council, local residents and the bus operator Norfolk Green to make this happen.

Councillor Nick Worth said: "We all agree that the best place for the new shelter is in Fleet Street, outside the Budgens convenience store, which is in a great location to attract people to this part of the town."

"It is in the right place for the people of Holbeach and we are delighted to give residents the shelter they want, which will provide people with a more comfortable wait for their bus."

Work started to build the new bus shelter on Monday 28 January, and it is hoped to be ready for bus users to use later next week, subject to weather conditions.
