New chief executive at East Lindsey District Council paid £105k
A NEW chief executive for East Lindsey District Council has been officially appointed.
Stuart Davy was officially made the council's chief executive following a vote by members.

NEW CHIEF: Stuart Davy has been appointed the new chief executive of East Lindsey District Council.
He had been the authority's acting chief executive since April last year and for a period of time in April 2010.
The council also agreed a salary of £105,000 - an increase from the £86,089 salary he received as acting chief executive.

He replaces Nigel Howells who retired in December following a period of sick leave from the council.
Mr Howells had been on a salary of circa £123,000.
Leader of the council, Councillor Doreen Stephenson, said: "I am delighted that Stuart has accepted the role. The council faces many significant challenges going forward, particularly around managing reductions in Government funding and maintaining services to the community.
"I have no doubt that Stuart is the right person to help us through these difficult times."
Mr Davy first joined East Lindsey District Council in 2008 and previously held the position of Deputy Chief Executive.
Speaking of his appointment, he said: "I am delighted to accept the position and relish the opportunity to work with councillors, officers, partner organisations and local people, in taking the organisation forward. Whilst there are tough times ahead, there are opportunities too.
"We must continue to work hard and with our partners to improve the services we provide to local people, whilst also managing the significant funding cuts the Council faces."
Before joining East Lindsey District Council, Mr Davy was head of neighbourhood management at Kingston upon Hull City Council and before that led one of the previous Government's flagship New Deal for Communities programmes.
A spokesman from East Lindsey District Council said the authority has also saved money by making an internal appointment as the external recruitment process for a chief executive can cost councils thousands of pounds.

“Why do councils need a chief executive, it's not like they have any competition, I don't get people knocking on my door offering to collect my rubbish each week cheaper than the council. It's all just snouts in the trough and our political masters wonder why people don't bother to vote, the whole lot of them stink!”

“This is 'news' recycled from last week and this is still too much to pay someone for 'running' a council we don't even need. How the heck do we get rid of it? The MPs aren't the least bit interested.”
