New group to highlight importance of natural environment in Lincolnshire
A NEW partnership has been launched in Lincolnshire to highlight the importance of the natural environment to local residents and the county's economy.
The Greater Lincolnshire Nature Partnership (GLNP) was launched at Doddington Hall and is one of the first Government-accredited Local Nature Partnerships in the country.

ENVIRONMENT:The new partnership will highlight the importance of our natural environment.
The GLNP represents almost 40 organisations working together to achieve more for nature across Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire and North-East Lincolnshire.
The partnership will continue to co-ordinate the Lincolnshire Biodiversity Action Plan, manage the Lincolnshire Environmental Records Centre, and co-ordinate the Local Sites system recognising sites of wildlife or geological importance, and geodiversity.

Reaching out beyond traditional wildlife enthusiasts; it will also bring together organisations and businesses from the agri-business, spatial planning, tourism, health and well-being, as well as environmental sectors to develop a shared vision for the natural environment, identify common aims and help everyone to work and live more closely with nature.
GLNP Chairman, Richard Chadd, said: "Increasing pressure on our natural environment, especially in counties like Lincolnshire, leads to innovative ways to conserve it for future generations.
"The natural world needs protection, not just for its own sake, but to maintain 'life support' systems for our health and well-being and for the economic stability of sectors which depend upon the resources ecosystems provide. The GLNP must play a leading role in this."
