A new multi-million pound primary school is expected to be built in Bourne by 2014.

The move comes after an increase in birth rates and more housing being built on the Elsea Park estate.

It is estimated there will be a significant shortage of places for pupils from September 2014, unless additional capacity is made available through the building of a new primary school.

Paul Holmes, head of property and technology management at Lincolnshire County Council, said: "We plan to speak with parents and children on the Elsea estate by the end of the year to get their thoughts."
