New nightclub launch in Lincoln this Thursday
Lincoln’s landmark nightclub Ritzy re-opens this week with a new name, new look and entertainment lined up for a memorable launch.
The Silver Street venue has been transformed following a £1.5 million investment by owners The Luminar Group and 30 new jobs have been created at the nightspot now called Moka and Shack.
The club will welcome guest DJ Joel Corry of Geordie Shore fame when it hosts its A Level result night on Thursday August 15 as it gears up for its opening weekend.
A special programme of entertainment with performers and guest DJs is planned for its VIP night on Friday August 16 for invited guests.

The launch weekend concludes on Saturday August 17 when Moka and Shack opens to the general public and The Mac Twins of BBC Radio 1Xtra provide a live DJ set.
Moka and Shack general manager Paul Oloo said: “We want to launch in some style. We’re very excited about welcoming former and new customers to see the changes and are confident we have the best venue in town.
“The transformation is the first the club has had in 15 years and has provided new dance floors, extra seating, raised VIP booths and Moka our stylish bar.
“We have the very latest sound and lighting equipment and we will be building on our launch entertainment programme with a series of world class DJs and personal appearances on a regular basis.
“What we are offering is very different from other venues and we can’t wait to see what the public think.”
With VIP boots, leather seats, and multi coloured bar area the refurbishment is a stark contrast to what the venue previously looked like.
Sophie Hough sales and events manager told the Echo: “The booth booking is £70 and this includes queue jump, entry, and the booth and personal waitress service.
“Our main aim is about providing excellent customer service.
“I always think from the customers’ point of view and try to create a fantastic event that everyone can enjoy.
“We offer flexible packages to suit very specific budgets and ideas.”
Admission is free until 11.30pm and the club is open Thursday to Sunday 10pm with a licence to stay open until 4.30am.
