NEW policies on the placement of wind turbines in the county have been approved.

Lincolnshire County Council officials have decided that all future developments of onshore wind turbines will have to operate in a bid to protect the look of the county.

Developments will have to include assessments of their visual, historic and natural environment impacts, along with residential amenities and related infrastructure.

East Lindsey District Council recently objected to a plan for eight wind turbines near Baumber, Wispington and Minting due to the landscape impact, cultural heritage of the area and other factors.

“Absolutely lunacy on the part of LCC and ELDC planners. Unless you're placing them outside the main door of Lincoln Cathedral, then frankly you should blanket the county with them.

The objections come from NIMBYs who don't realise that unless we don't do everything to combat climate change, Lincoln will be a seaside resort soon, and their precious houses in Baumber, Wispington and Minting will be underwater.”
