ARMSTRONG And Miller are rumoured to be the poshest comedy duo in showbusiness.

But as they prepare to entertain a Lincolnshire audience – Ben Miller admits he's "common as muck".

The BAFTA award-winning pair, who are famous for their BBC programme, The Armstrong And Miller Show, are currently touring with their new live comedy act.

Fans will chortle at their wild and wacky characters, including the Second World War pilots, alongside a few from the new series, set to hit the small screen in the Autumn.

Ben, 44, from London, said: "Characters in our new show include two old school vampires and the pilots obviously are popular.

"We've been itching to do a live tour and we've never been to Lincolnshire so it's a whole new world for us.

"Although my grandad did live in Skegness."

Ben said having been performing shows with Alexander since the early nineties, he's the perfect comedy partner.

"You need someone who really gets you and you have your own little window on the world," he said.

"It's like any relationship, it has its ups and downs."

When the pair first started out, after meeting while studying in Cambridge, Ben said audiences accepted them, but when it came to TV work, they were told they were too posh for their own show.

"I'm not posh, I'm common as muck, but Alexander is quite posh," said Ben.

"We make fun of ourselves though and now have our own production company called Toff Media."

Ben says he admires many modern comedians, particularly duos.

"Little Britain was fantastic and I like Flight Of The Conchords. But my all time favourite is Monty Python. I just really like a laugh."

So what can comedy fans expect from their live show?

"Just don't sit on the front row," Ben said.

"There is a lot of audience anticipation and we're looking forward to the show. See you all on October 7."
