Olympic Torch Relay celebrations in Boston
THE final countdown is on to the arrival of the Olympic torch relay in Boston Borough.
On Wednesday - exactly a month before the London 2012 opening ceremony - dozens of publicly nominated torchbearers will carry the iconic symbol of the Olympic-spirit through the streets of Wrangle and Boston on the Lincolnshire leg of its 70-day, 8,000 mile journey around the country.

Large numbers of people are expected to line the route to catch a glimpse of the torch and Boston Mayor Colin Brotherton told the Target it would be a "huge honour" to welcome the Olympic flame to the borough.
He said: "It means that those who cannot get to London for the Games can still feel a part of what, for many, will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

The first runner will begin carrying the torch along the A52 in Wrangle starting at 2.05pm at the junction with Sea Lane and passing Chapel Lane (2.08pm), Broadgate and Tooley Lane (2.12pm), Mel Marshall Way (2.15pm), Church End (2.19pm) and finishing at the junction with Gowt Bank at 2.20pm.
The torch will then travel by vehicle to Boston where a runner will set off with the flame along Spilsby Road from Boston High School at about 2.36pm passing Mayfair Gardens (2.38pm), Freiston Road (2.42pm), onto Wide Bargate (2.46pm), past Tawney Street (2.47pm), past Petticoat Lane (2.50pm), into the Market Place (2.51pm), over Town Bridge (2.52pm), into High Street/Bridge Street (2.53pm), into West Street (2.53pm), into Sleaford Road (2.57pm), past Frampton Place (2.58pm), past Woodville Road (2.59pm), past Old Mill Court (3.03pm), past South Parade (3.06pm), past Arundel Crescent (3.08pm), finishing on the A1121 Boardsides at 3.10pm.
As well as the torchbearers there will be an associated convoy of as many as 14 vehicles plus up to eight police motorcycles.
Roads on the route will be closed to all traffic for around a hour beforehand.
Vehicles must not be parked on any of the roads on the route on the morning of the event.
There will also be no parking permitted all day on the Cattle Market car park and Wide Bargate will be closed throughout the day.
The market will operate as normal so stalls will occupy Bargate Green car park while the Wide Bargate taxi rank will move for the day to Custom House Quay.
