Olympic fever is already spreading across the Brayford in Lincoln ahead of tonight's Festival of Light.
Spectators eager to get a front row view of the carnival procession leading the Olympic Torch into the centre of the city are milling around the waterside, bringing a welcome boost to cafes and bars.
Dawn Sendall, owner of the Royal William 1V, said she was ready for the thousands of people expected later. She said: "The beer's cold and we have extra staff on - we are ready and really looking forward to it.
Getting an early seat along the Waterside were the Lott family from Lincoln. Grandfather Keith said: "I think this is great. It's just what the city needs."
