CARRE'S Grammar School in Sleaford is having an Open Day to promote the first anniversary of the newly refurbished community fitness suite and food technology room.

The school's fitness and food facilities are used for a range of health and fitness programmes, working in partnership with Lincolnshire NHS, North Kesteven partnership and local GP surgeries.

Health and fitness manager, Nigel Stephenson, said: "For many years now, we have been delivering exercise referral sessions where people suffering from medical conditions can be referred by their health professional to take part in an exercise programme. Many of these people decide to continue to exercise regularly after being referred."

More recently, the food technology room has been used to offer healthy eating workshops to local people.

These workshops provide people with the opportunity to get hands on by using a real kitchen facility. Both of these programmes are funded by Lincolnshire NHS.

To find out more about any of the fitness and food programmes contact Nigel Stephenson, 01529 308742 or email: nigel.stephenson@ carres.lincs.sch.uk
