Organisers urge concert-goers to book early for Poppy Prom in Sleaford
ORGANISERS of this year’s Poppy Prom are encouraging concert goers to get their tickets ahead of next month’s event.
The Poppy Prom will take place at St Denys’ Church in Sleaford on October 20, at 7.30pm, and is held to launch the Sleaford and district branch of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

Branch chairman Ian Graham said: “We have had a particularly busy year with the Queen’s Jubilee, Olympic torch and the Games, not least the promenade at the Albert Hall and finally we look forward to the Poppy Prom concert at St Denys’.
“We look back in history, last year to celebrate the RBL’s 90th anniversary we held a special concert.

“We are not trying to beat that but we have one or two items in programme to make it special this year.
“Looking back over the years, it’s interesting to see how much support the Poppy Appeal has gained.
“It is most pleasing and gratifying and we are very fortunate to have such great support around us.”
The Poppy Prom has been organised in conjunction with The Target and the Sleaford and District RBL with support from Lincolnshire Co-Operative Funeral Services which offers its limousines for the evening.
The Sleaford Concert Band will be headlining the evening.
There are 500 tickets but these are selling fast.
