Both men, of no fixed address, were remanded in to custody until 1 November when they will be sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court.
Adjourning sentence Recorder Taylor told them: "This is a serious case in which a householder was attacked during the course of a burglary.
"A custodial sentence is inevitable."
