THE operator that runs train services through Sleaford has been given the thumbs up by its passengers.

Eighty-seven per cent of those who took part in a survey by national transport watchdog Passenger Focus said they were satisfied with the service of East Midlands Trains (EMT).

Carried out last autumn, the poll also found satisfaction with the upkeep and repair of the company's trains increased was 85 per cent representing a nine per cent year on year increase.

EMT managing director David Horne said: "We're really pleased with the latest set of satisfaction scores, which are a clear demonstration that our investment to improve our stations and trains is continuing to make a difference to passengers.

"However, we remain focused on delivering further improvements to the service we offer to ensure that satisfaction amongst our passengers continues to grow."
