Patrons needed for new roles
A NEW patrons' scheme has been launched in a bid to inject more much-needed finances into the local amateur dramatics scene.
Gainsborough Amateur Operatic Society is offering the chance to become a patron for as little as £15 a year.
GAOS is entirely self-funding and its financial support is obtained mainly from ticket sales.
"Box office takings rarely cover the cost of producing a show and it is therefore essential that we generate additional income to help safeguard the future of the society," said spokesman Vicky Toward.
"We are always looking for sponsors, patrons and anyone who has a love of the musical theatre to support us to enable GAOS to survive for another 100 years.
"Becoming a patron of this society can help in this effort.
"We are grateful for every penny raised, which helps GAOS maintain its high standard of production and helps to keep musical theatre in Gainsborough very much alive and kicking.
"You can become a patron of the society for as little as £15 or £20 for a couple.
"There is, of course, no maximum limit and one-off donations will always be welcomed."
There are three levels of patronage – bronze at £15, silver for £25 and gold for £60 – which entitle patrons to a wide range of benefits from the society.
Anyone who becomes a patron before April will be able to see their name in the programme of the forthcoming show.
Me and My Girl is being performed at the Trinity Arts Centre in Gainsborough from April 24 to 28 inclusive.
Tickets are on sale at the box office on (01427) 676655.
