HOPES that Tower Gardens Pavilion could soon be back in use have been dealt a setback.

East Lindsey District Council has confirmed it is now exploring other options after plans for a Community Asset Transfer fell through.

The council has been working with community groups that expressed an interest in taking on ownership of The Pavilion and one outline business plan was submitted to the council for consideration in January.

The plan has now been independently evaluated and whilst recognising the effort that has been made by the community groups involved, the council is unable to continue with the Asset Transfer.

ELDC's Gary Sargeant, said: "Taking forward a proposal to take on a community building is never easy.

"I'd like to thank those who have been involved in this process and explored the opportunities.

"Whilst the proposal was clearly well thought out and considered ... the proposal wasn't considered financially robust by the independent evaluators."
