Pedestrian hit by white van near Skegness

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital after being hit by a white Volkswagen van in Lincolnshire.

The incident occured near to Poppy's Cafe on Burgh Road, just outside of Skegness at around 3:30pm on September 6.

The pedestrian is beleived to be in his mid-sixties and officers at the scene assessed his head and shoulder injuries as serious.

He was then taken to Pilgrim Hospital in Boston.

The road has been partially closed and police are advising motorsists to avoid the area.

The male driver of the van is not thought to be injured.
