Pensioner who died after A17 crash named

Police have named a pensioner who died following a car crash.

Carl Rayner, 78, was driving a silver Vauxhall Meriva which was in collision with a beige Vauxhall Zafira.

It happened on the A17 near Sutterton roundabout at about 4.30pm on Sunday, September 9.

Mr Rayner, from Alpine View in Hemsworth, West Yorkshire, was taken to Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, where he later died.

A 21-year-old man from Spalding was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. 

Police are asking for anyone who either saw the collision or either of the vehicles prior to the collision to contact them on 101.
