Top of the Pile in Skegness honour loyal employee with iPad for 25 years service
A LONG established family business has honoured an employee for 25 years loyal service.
Paul Pycroft was presented with a brand new Ipad in recognition of his many years of service to Top of the Pile Quality Carpets on Heath Road Industrial Estate, Skegness.
The independent carpet and flooring business started 27 years ago by Paul's brother and sister-in-law, Jon and Julie Pycroft.
Paul joined the company two years later when he moved from Bognor Regis to Skegness at the age of 24.
Paul said: "I really enjoy my job here and I am proud of my 25 years service."
Julie said: "Paul started with us as an apprentice and has been a very loyal worker ever since. He has hardly ever had any time off and is never late."
Paul, who is hearing impaired, has recently returned to work after recovering from open-heart surgery.
Julie said: "When Paul joined us, his confidence was low due to his hearing impairment. By working here, it has given him so much more confidence and he soon came out of his shell. He then went on to pass his driving test first time.
"Our customers love him and specifically ask for him by name."
As well as being presented with an Ipad, Paul's milestone was also being celebrated with a meal at The Vine Hotel.
Top of the Pile is one of the many independent successful businesses in Skegness.
Julie added: "I think being an independent and long-established business counts for a lot.
"Because we are established, people know they can rely on us to give a good service to our customers."
