“Of course the public can use a private gym - so long as they have the money to join it ! A public facility should be open to all for a simple entry charge not huge monthly fee's. Not everyone can afford to join a gym but they might be able to pay for a swim once a week.”

“LET'S HOPE THIS PROJECT IS GOING TO BE BEFITTING OF A CITY THE SIZE OF LINCOLN, I.E. A GOOD SIZE SWIMMING POOL, WITH PROPER QUALIFIED STAFF.
ALSO WILL THERE BE MULTI FUNCTIONAL INDOOR COURTS AND OUTDOOR FLOODLIT FACILITIES. WE DO NOT NEED ANYMORE COFFEE BARS, SAUNAS AND "PAMPERING" BUSINESS'S.”

“I may be missing a point here but aren't the public allowed to use a "private" gym? and also we're living in a period of extreme and absolute austerity so how can there be any public i.e. taxpayers money invested in any such initiatives?

The money has been long spent/wasted there isn't any left, so when a company (who heaven forbid want to make profit) come into our city and invest money, create jobs and more choice for our residents (not to mention remove an eyesore from our cityscape) let's all pour scorn on the idea and breed negativity instantly??

maybe that might just be a better way to get this city moving in the right direction instead of moaning and whinging all the time? just a thought!”
