“"Why are the police only asking for help now? This was TEN weeks ago--Sept 4th.......seems a bit half hearted to me."

“Pedestrians constantly go through the red light at this crossing. i could also name a few more places where pedestrians go through red lights where people have nearly got themselves hit. but the road safety partnership wont stick pedestrian red light cameras up at places"”

“I've got a blue car, so it's not me. But I've never hit a pedestrian (yet) so I guess all my driving counts as near misses.”

“So the date today is the 21st, and this happened on the 4th. And it's a red car. Yep, got lots to go on here.”

“I would suggest the red car was later involved in a road collision and this is part of evidence building i.e. manner of driving immediately before the principal incident. The article might have done better if it had explained the reason(s) behind the request.”

“So someone wasn't hit by a car, hasn't gone to the police and they're now trying to investigate it.

I've just seen a red car on the High street and wasn't hit by it, wonder if it was the same one.......”

“"Police appeal after near miss between car and pedestrian in Lincoln"

So nothing actually happened then? Is there something more you could be telling us to make this storey look a lot less bizarre TIL?

Like Yoda would say "You either do or you dont, there is no near miss".”
