Police pursue illegal harecoursers in Lincolnshire
Lincolnshire Police is investigating reports of illegal harecoursing today at Fleet, Stamford, Waddingham and Billingborough.
People have descended on the county now that crops are harvested from fields to chase hares with Lurcher-type dogs.
The illegal bloodsport usually involves lots of money being gambled and the season begins about now and runs until March.
Superintendent Shaun West is urging anyone who witnesses harecoursing to call the police on 101, ideally with vehicle registration details.
