Police warn of petrol money scam in Lincolnshire

POLICE are appealing for residents to report incidents of males of a 'Mediterranean appearance', approaching them asking for money.

Reports have been received that the males are asking for petrol money of £40 to £50 to get them to an airport or London in return for being offered jackets or watches.

If you have been approached or can give details of the cars they are travelling in, call Lincolnshire Police on 101.

The public are being warned that if they are approached, do not enter into any discussions but simply walk away or enter a local shop if possible.
