Special day: Brave Horncastle boy Kian Jones enjoyed sitting in a police car as part of his treat. He is pictured with, from left, dad Simon with four-month-old sister Lacie, Mum Tammy with four-year-old brother Danny and PCSOs ZaZa Warren and Louise Borman with PC Liana Portogallo and PCSO Lorraine Dawson, front.
He has undergone intensive chemotherapy and radiotherapy to cure the cancer which has attacked one of his eye muscles.
His battle has involved numerous trips to Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham.
In October last year Kian underwent surgery to have the muscle removed, resulting in him losing his eye.
As a result of the chemotherapy, Kian now has Perthes disease in his hips, which seriously restricts his movement.
As a special treat, Kian together with mum Tammy, dad Simon, four-year-old brother Danny and little four-month old Lacie, spent Friday afternoon with Horncastle and Louth Neighbourhood Policing Teams.
Horncastle PCSO Lorraine Dawson, who organised the day, is also undertaking a slimming challenge to raise money for a helicopter trip for Kian. So far she has raised £200.
She said: "I know Kian really wants to go on a helicopter ride so I thought I would do a sponsored slimming challenge.
"My aim is to lose two stone in three months.
"I'd be really grateful to anyone wishing to sponsor me, every little helps."
Any extra funds will go towards a mobility scooter which Kian needs.
The treat started with a ride in a police car from Horncastle to Louth Police Station.
At Louth, he met PC Liana Portogallo, PCSO ZaZa Warren and PCSO Louise Borman.
The family were then given a guided tour of the police station, including a visit to the police cells where Kian and Danny had their fingerprints taken and faced the 'mug shot' camera.
Kian's mum Tammy said: "This day will be a nice memory for him. He loves anything to do with the police – he likes to watch the policing programmes and hear all the stories about what police do.
"We are very grateful to Lorraine for organising this day as well as raising funds for Kian."
