PIG farmers from Gainsborough are vying for a regional title, and national acclaim, in the Countryside Alliance Awards 2010.

Redhill Farm, which produces pork, dry cured hams and bacon plus handmade sausages and pork pies from their own herd of free range porkers, have been nominated as one of the top three East Midlands entrants in the Local Food category.

Countryside Alliance East Of England judge Sarah Taylor said: "Judging these awards is always a pleasure because of the down to earth, hard working characters I meet.

"We have had many heartfelt nominations for these businesses, and I look forward to judging them for an award."
