Post Office offered 'competitive package' to stay at Hildreds Centre in Skegness
THE Post Office turned down attempts to keep the service within in the Hildreds Centre, it has been revealed.
Following the closure of the Co-operative Store in Skegness town centre last month, which also saw the loss of the town's main Post Office, one resident contacted the Target to say they'd been told the service had been offered a unit 'rent-free' for two years within the shopping mall.

This was strenuously denied by the Post Office whose spokesman said: "The Post Office have never received such an offer from the agent."
However a spokesman for NewRiver Retail, owners of the Hildreds Centre said: "I can confirm that the centre's Post Office store was offered a number of very competitive packages to urge its owners to reconsider the relocation.

"The store was accessible and a pivotal resource for the Hildreds' shoppers and the wider community. It is unfortunate that despite our efforts it has now been moved to another location."
The Post Office opened in its new location on the first floor of Beales, Lumley Road, last week.
