Primary school pupils in Louth learning about loan sharks to help protect their families
Children at a Louth primary school have been learning about the danger of loan sharks in hope they will pass on what they have learnt to their families.
Lincolnshire County Council teamed up with the England Illegal Money Lending Team and Altru Drama to put together a performance on why loan sharks should always be avoided.

The Altru Drama team worked with Year 4 pupils from Lacey Gardens Primary School over three days to develop and deliver original production Fairy Tale Money Troubles.
Funded by money taken from convicted loan sharks, the final performance will debut at the school on Thursday, March 21.

Acting illegally, loan sharks often appear friendly at first but will trap their "customers" into a spiral of debt, adding extra charges and exorbitant rates of interest.
Once people are unable to repay their loans, many sharks resort to extreme measures such as violence and threats of intimidation.
Headteacher Heather Sandy said she hoped the production would help warn children of the dangers of loan sharks early in life and also pass on their newfound-knowledge to their parents, carers and siblings.
She said: "As a school, it is essential that we explore these real life issues with children, in order to prepare them for a successful future."
Kate Gorst, director of Altru Drama, said: "The subject of money and finances is so important and using drama to develop understanding of this topic is an innovative and exciting way for children to learn.
"Because their learning is done in an active and participatory way, the knowledge is much more likely to be retained and the performance they do at the end of this project will benefit both the whole school and the local community."
