A TOWN'S art trail is to receive £1,000 of grant funding from East Lindsey District Council's Rural Development Grant.

In 2012, the council agreed to put £1.5m into a grant scheme to support organisations and business in delivering projects that will provide a boost to the local economy.

Louth Arts Trail has successfully applied for £1,000 to organise and deliver the trail in 2013.

Launched last year, the trail initiated by Spout Yard Gallery focuses on Louth's historical and cultural heritage.

Last year's trail attracted more than 1,360 visitors to Louth.

Portfolio holder for economic regeneration at East Lindsey District Council, Councillor Craig Leyland, said: "The money that has been awarded to the Louth Art Trail will help to raise the profile of Louth and attract visitors to the town.
