Pub part of famous 100
THE Aston Arms in Market Rasen has been singled out as a top spot for drinkers by Scottish whisky brand The Famous Grouse.
The alcohol brand searched the country over a two-month long campaign to find pubs with unique and quirky reasons for their fame.
The venue has now been given the status as one of the Famous 100 pubs and will now receive a personalised limited edition plaque to honour this achievement.
The Aston Arms was given the accolade thanks to the recordings of Elton John, whose lyricist and collaborator Bernie Taupin spent much of his youth drinking and playing snooker at the pub.

Linda Sooprayen, The Famous Grouse Brand Manager, Maxxium UK, said: "We launched The Famous 100 to really pay tribute to the fantastic pubs we have in the UK.
"Publicans have long been supportive of our fame and we wanted to do something to celebrate theirs.
"We were very impressed with the pubs in Lincolnshire and were delighted to include The Aston Arms in the final 100."
