CHILDREN at a Wainfleet school have been learning the importance of getting involved in their local community.

Year Three pupils at the Magdalen School have taken part in an Our Community programme with sessions led by class teacher Joan James and PCSO Jayne Richardson.

Over the last five weeks, the children, aged seven and eight, have been looking at how a community works, identifying key issues and organisations locally and encouraging youngsters to take pride and get involved in their community.
