A farmer discovered the yelping animals between Claypole and Dry Doddington, near Newark.

The cross-breeds were in a wooden ferret cage and a cat carrier. Six are aged around 14 weeks old and eight are around eight weeks old.

The RSPCA said it was too early to identify what breeds the pups were but it said they could have come from up to three litters.

Some had severe worms and the charity is now providing veterinary treatment.

Animal collection officer Fran Whitten said the animals were packed in "like sardines".

"They just couldn't move," she said. "I was absolutely horrified that someone had put so many in such small containers."

“"I've made deliveries to some of the places they live"

How can you make deliveries to someone who might describe themselves "of no fixed address"?”

“And what good would that do? We all know the authorities turn a blind eye to their activities, why? 'cos they are scared of them and they all stick together like glue and deny all knowledge

The RSPCA would do far better just trying to find good homes for the poor mites”

“A newspaper message board is not the place to make these allegations.

The police or RSPCA would be more appropriate.”

“I'm not hiding at all Gnome_Chomsky, i just know my post would be deleted if i stated my suspicions to where they came from...........a certain minority that have big fat weddings........ooops nearly gave it away then!!!!

I've made deliveries to some of the places they live and there are dogs roaming everywhere, and that so called ferret cage is not what they think it is, it's a terrier box that they transport them in when they are going out to hunt with them”

“Moocher1,just name & shame, its obvious these subhuman scum are only in it to make money & obviously that aint happening,so the only things suffering are the dogs!
@Insidestory yes I agree that vets charge stupid money for their services(more than private healthcare for humans ) but if you cannot afford to look after your pet properly then maybe you should think twice about getting a pet in the first place?”

    “Mindblowing what some folk do..........

I could hazard a guess to where they came from........a place where you see dogs roaming round to do as they please, where the owners don't care for them, where the authorities seem scared to intervene in their way of life but if i did say where this post would be deleted and i would be branded for discrimination.......so i will keep my thoughts to myself”
