CITY councillors will meet tonight to discuss a proposal for reinstating racing on Lincoln's West Common.
The City of Lincoln Council's executive committee has been scheduled to consider the plan for weeks.

But the Lincoln Racecourse Regeneration Company Ltd withdrew its plan late on Thursday.
Directors of the company, Lincoln MP Karl McCartney and local accountant Karen Rastall, blamed council officers for their U-turn.
They believe officers had not fairly considered their proposal and decided to defer any plan for the project.
The meeting is at the New Life Centre in Newland, Lincoln, at 6pm.

“Given the controversy over this issue and the fact that the planners have withdrawn their application; why are the council, in the current age of austerity, continuing to hold a public meeting at our expense for an application that is no longer being contested by the applicant?
Hopefully they can draw a line under it once and for all - either approving or denying permission to set a precident for any future applications. However, as each application has to be assessed on it's own merits, that won't happen.
Is this because an MP with a vested interest in the application is applying pressure to the counticl? A waste of time and money.”
