Most of the Red Arrows' training flights will still take place in the airspace above RAF Scampton. This is a designated restricted area specific for the team's training.
The decision to use Cranwell also considered its close proximity to the airspace at Scampton.

Some training flights will be conducted overhead RAF College Cranwell at specific times and have all been coordinated with the other stations in Lincolnshire to ensure minimal disruption.
The RAF says it is vital that the team maintain the training momentum throughout the winter and the temporary move to Cranwell will allow the continuity in developing the display.
The Red Arrows leave Cranwell on March 7 for their annual training exercise in Europe. The runway work is due to be completed in time for the summer display season.
