“Excellent work Echo. Glad to see you have changed the tone of this story. A drop in reported crime is the correct way to write it. Now.....what about finding out the detection rate. Go on I dare you!”

“Many people will find it hard to believe that in times of recession crime has dropped. Well look at the article again! Crime hasn't dropped. REPORTED CRIME HAS DROPPED which is a very different thing. Also Mr Hardwick tells us that the Police are meeting targets for detecting crime. The target should be 100% DETECTED. Nothing less will do!. Please tell us what the current detection rate is and let us make our own minds up whether enough crime is being detected.”
