Reports of attempted child abduction in Lincoln are false, say police
Police have said they are not investigating allegations on social networking websites that three men attempted to abduct a child from a car in Rookery Lane, in Lincoln.
Claims have been made on Facebook that the men approached the car yesterday evening while it was waiting at a set of traffic lights and tried to gain entry.

But spokesman for Lincolnshire Police, James Newall, said that there is no suggestions anyone was trying to abduct a child.
He said: “We had an incident reported to us this morning where a man tried a car door, in Rookery Lane, yesterday evening. The door was locked.
