Road closures will lead to a logistical nightmare
WITH all the information in the Target (Sept 11) about road closures, we thought Target readers would like to know the following information.
Langrick Bridge - the main B1192 from Boston to Conningsby - will be closed to all traffic and pedestrians from 6pm on Friday, October 18 to Monday, October 21.
This is going to cause a major headache to a lot of people who live on our side of the river, especially if they cannot exit Tattershall Road near the lock, and have to divert round through Antons Gowt to get back to this side of the river. It won't be possible.
They would need to go to Tattershall and cross the bridge there, then come back through Chapel Hill and Holland Fen to get back to the B1192.

Otherwise, they will have to follow the whole of the John Adams Way and come off by Carlton Road or go along Sleaford Road to Hubberts Bridge - which incidentally is closed on October 22 for essential works - and along the B1192 from there.
Goodness, this is going to be a logistical nightmare.
Jilly at Station Cafe won't be able to get to work without going to Tattershall or Boston and doing the 10 mile extra round trip to open the Cafe, which is open seven days a week.
She lives this side of the river and the cafe is the other side.
Bob Wilding Garage comes to us for Petrol/Diesel most days and he will be finding it difficult to obtain fuel.
Of course, the work is scheduled on Langrick Bridge over the weekend so the school children won't have a problem, but a lot of people are going to find this exceedingly difficult, even just for the weekend.
This does pose a massive problem. The B1192 Boston to Conningsby is a very well used road and we are situated just South of Langrick Bridge. Fortunately, we have a boat.
