Roadworks. breakdowns and poor driving add to Lincolnshire Show congestion
Roadworks. breakdowns and irresponsible motorists have been blamed for adding to the traffic congestion during the Lincolnshire Show.
The show has had an unusually high attendance, no doubt affected by the good weather, and the traffic situation has been affected by the existing roadworks on the A46.

There were also two broken down vehicles earlier this morning - an HGV and a car - at separate points on the A46 bypass, both of which caused additional congestion.
Some motorists are ignoring road signage, particular the signs for 'Lincolnshire Show Only' traffic.

This is causing additional delays and problems for traffic management staff, who are having to turn people around. Some drivers are weaving between cones and doing U-turns which again, is adding to the traffic problems.
Lincolnshire Police are urging all drivers to adhere to the signs and to drive responsibly, and act on the requests of traffic management staff and officials in order to keep the traffic flowing and facilitate journeys as efficiently as possible.
