Rockies road leads to thousands for charity
A CANCER charity is thousands of pounds better off thanks to the epic efforts of a Boston fitness instructor.
Liisa Chadburn, who works at Creations Health Club at the Geoff Moulder Leisure Centre in Rowley Road, was one of team of 26 people who took part in a Ride the Rockies cycling challenge for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The group set off from Calgary and over five days rode 250 miles across the Canadian Rockies through the fantastic scenery of spectacular national parks to Jasper.
During the ride they topped 2,068 metres which is in excess of one-and-a-half times the height of Britain's highest peak Ben Nevis.
So far Liisa has collected £3,200 in sponsorship and the team overall has raised more than £105,000 for the charity.
Liisa, 35, told the Target: "What an amazing experience. Long, wide roads, breathtaking scenery, and of course the never-ending inclines.
"Although at the end of every incline there was always an exhilarating descent. We even saw bears.
"Many friendships were made along with memories that will last forever. How proud we all are, such an achievement.
"I would like to say a very big thank you to everyone who helped and supported me throughout the Rockies challenge.
"All the business in the town which gave donations and sponsorship, the general public and of course, all the members at Creations Health Club and GMLC.
"All the hard work and effort was made easier with your support and encouragement along the way. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
"I am now looking for my next challenge."
