Rotarians learn more about school's success with pupil visit
MEMBERS of the Alford and Mablethorpe Rotary Club were given an insight into the success of a local school at their lastmeeting.
Headteacher of Queen Elizabeth Grammar, Angie Francis was accompanied by head girl Ginny Benham and head boy Edward Derlien when they visited the club on Tuesday, October 15.
Miss Francis spoke of the school's direct involvement with business and the recent receipt of the International Schools Award by the British Council for their close association and work with schools in Sydney, Australia.
Ginny is shortly to spend a year's exchange in Australia and Edward is a past participant in the Rotary Young Leaders Award Scheme which provides a challenging experience for youngsters at Castleton Camp in Derbyshire.
The club has worked with the school in many different ways over the years and on behalf of the club, David Black expressed the hope that this would continue into the future.
