Russell Kane ready to stand up and be counted at Lincoln's Engine Shed
He may have been busy presenting I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here…Now! but Russell Kane still managed to find time to answer a few of our questions ahead of his gig in Lincoln – despite being on the opposite side of the world at the time.
After landing back on home turf, Russell Kane went straight back to a 57 date tour with his latest show Manscaping – heading to Lincoln on Wednesday, December 14.

City date: Russell Kane is l heading to the Engine Shed.
Russell has achieved what no other comedian has managed – winning both the Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Award and the Barry Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2010 with his stand-up show Smokescreens and Castles.
In Manscaping he mercilessly explores the ridiculous state of masculinity in the modern world with his examination of the possible 12 shapes that manhood takes over the years.
Q:>Congrats on winning Children in Need Mastermind, how did you come up with your specialist subject (The Life and Novels of Evelyn Waugh)?
A:>I wanted a subject that would surprise people. I sound like a moron; so people might not have been expecting me to be so obsessed with literature.
Q:>You've been doing a diverse range of work over the past few years. Is there anything which stands out as a particular accomplishment for you?
A:>Easy. Winning the Foster Comedy Award (formerly The Perrier). That and signing the deal on my novel. Oh. And making my first DVD.
Q:>That debut novel, The Humorist, will be out in 2012. Can you tell us more?
A:>Ahh. You'll have to wait and see.
Q:>How does presenting I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here…Now! differ from live stand-up?
A:>Well – I'm lucky, I get to do stand-up every show. So it's just as terrifying. It's good learning some presenting skills – my life-raft career.
Q:>You are coming to Lincoln with Manscaping in which Masculinity gets a pounding I understand – tell us more?
A:>I wanted to examine how lost the modern man is. He's plucking, shaving, lost in post-feminism – but still has all the dangly bits that make him behave like an idiot.
Q:>Finally, how are your cats – Keith and Wayne?
A:>Keith and Wayne are wonderful. There is talk of a new brother – a Pug. Called Gavin.
Russell Kane Manscaping at Engine Shed Lincoln on Wednesday, December 14 (7.30pm). Tickets: £17.50. Box office: (0844) 888 8766, www.engineshed.co.uk
