The performance of his Yamaha R6 in pre-season has left Lowes in buoyant mood ahead of the World Supersport opener at Phillip Island, Australia, at the end of February.
“A lot of top teams were there, from both Superbike and Supersport, so it was a good gage of where we’re at,” said the former North Kesteven School pupil, who left the PTR Honda team for the Russian-backed Yakhnich squad at the end of last season.

“We finished the test less than a tenth off Kenan and we were well clear of everyone else.
“There’s a certainly a lot more to come from me while he knows his bike (a Kawasaki) very well.
“I was already excited about the season ahead, but now I’m even more excited.
“I’ve got a mega bunch of people behind me. I’ve got more support and backing so there are no excuses.
“I’m really happy with the bike and team. I couldn’t have asked for any more really.”
