Sam Lowes has carried his blistering pre-season pace into the World Supersport opener at Phillip Island by roaring to provisional pole position on his Yakhnich Yamaha.
After topping the timesheets at the final test session earlier this week, the Lincoln rider set the pace again in first practice and qualifying at the Australian circuit this morning.

Sam Lowes is setting the pace at Phillip Island on his Yakhnich Yamaha.
Lowes' fastest lap of 1:32.545 was an astonishing 1.1 seconds faster than second-placed man and three-time World Supersport champion Kenan Sofuoglu on his MAHI India Kawasaki.
The wily Turk will be Lowes' main threat this season, with many pundits already forecasting a two-way fight for the title between the pair.
