Sam made to wait for title after losing out in epic battle with rival Sofuoglu
Sam Lowes must wait a little longer before cementing the World Supersport crown following a titanic, but sporting, battle with Kenan Sofuoglu in Turkey.
Lowes knew victory over his arch-rival would secure the crown with two rounds to spare.
And the Lincoln racer almost pulled it off after leading for the majority of the race at the Istanbul Park circuit.
However, Sofuoglu reeled Lowes in before the pair became embroiled in a thrilling battle for the lead.

The duo traded places several times on the final lap alone, but the Turk pinched victory by just 0.040 seconds to the delight of his home crown.
"I was sure that I could win," said Lowes, who saw his lead trimmed from 54 to 49 points.
"But Kenan was brilliant and I will have to put it off until Magny-Cours."
With a maximum of 50 points available over the final two rounds, Lowes essentially only has to finish one of them to add the world title to the British Supersport crown he won in 2010. The next round, at Magny Cours in France, takes place on October 6.
How they stand
